Ħamrun Spartans have strengthened their attacking options with the winter signing of Nigerian centre-forward Blessing Chibukie Eleke, who officially joined the Maltese champions on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old striker arrives with significant international experience, having featured across several European leagues and most recently representing Kazincbarcikai SC in the Hungarian top tier. Eleke brings a strong physical presence to the Spartans’ frontline, standing at 1.90 metres, and is known for his hold-up play, aerial ability, and work rate in the final third.
A former Slovenian league champion and Tajikistan Super Cup winner, Eleke’s career has seen him compete at a high level in different footballing environments. His arrival comes at a crucial stage of the YoHealth Premier League Closing Round, as Ħamrun look to maintain their competitive edge domestically.
Eleke has signed a contract running until June 2026, giving him the opportunity to make an immediate impact during the second half of the season. Although primarily deployed as a centre-forward, his physical attributes and experience allow him to fit into different attacking systems.
The Nigerian forward adds depth and maturity to the Spartans squad, offering the technical staff another tactical option as the title race intensifies.
