Ħamrun Spartans have officially added Brazilian defender Rafael Compri to their squad as preparations continue for a crucial summer in Europe.
The experienced right-back arrives from Brazil after short spells with Gramadense and Caravaggio earlier this year. Between both clubs, Compri featured in 15 competitive matches in 2025, registering two assists during his brief but effective stint at Gramadense. His performances caught the eye of scouts, paving the way for a move to Malta’s Premier League champions.
At 29 years old, Compri brings over a decade of professional experience, having represented 15 clubs and played more than 150 matches in his native Brazil. Known for his reliability in defence and ability to contribute going forward, he’s expected to compete for a starting role at right-back.

The Maltese champions face a tough opening test in Europe, as they prepare to take on FK Žalgiris of Lithuania in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
