The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile has confirmed that the Istanbul Park will return to the Formula 1 World Championship calendar starting in 2027, with a deal in place for at least five years.
The Turkish circuit is expected to host its first race back in 2027, marking a long-awaited return after last appearing on the calendar in 2021 as a replacement event during the COVID-19 period.
The track, located in Istanbul, was previously used in Formula 1 between 2005 and 2011, and again in 2020 and 2021. It is known for producing competitive races and has remained popular with drivers and fans.
The return has been the result of long-running discussions between Turkish officials and Formula 1 leadership, with strong political and commercial support helping push the deal forward.
The agreement also follows new management arrangements for the circuit, aimed at securing a stable long-term presence on the F1 calendar.

Further details, including the full race schedule and contract structure, are expected to be confirmed at an official announcement event involving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Formula 1 representatives.
The move is part of Formula 1’s broader plan to balance traditional venues with new and returning markets, while keeping the calendar capped at 24 races per season.
