Kyren Wilson endured a difficult opening session but showed resilience as he fought back against Mark Allen in their last-16 clash at the World Snooker Championship.
Allen made a strong start, racing into a 5-0 lead as Wilson struggled to find consistency and made several costly mistakes. The Northern Irishman took full advantage, controlling the early frames with solid breaks and smart safety play.
Wilson eventually stopped the run of frames against him and began to recover, winning his first frame with a composed break after Allen missed a chance to extend his lead further.
From there, the match became more competitive. Wilson started to find rhythm, producing a strong 75 break in one frame to cut into Allen’s advantage.
Although Allen remained ahead at 5-3 after the session, Wilson’s comeback in the later stages prevented the match from slipping away completely.

On the next table, Neil Robertson secured his place in the next round with a 10-6 victory over Pang Junxu. Robertson finished strongly with a century break to close out the match and will now face Chris Wakelin in the quarter-finals.
Wilson and Allen’s match will resume in the next session, with Allen still holding the advantage but Wilson gaining momentum.
