The Final of the Bavaria Championship for Gold category horses was officially launched on Monday, 21 April, during a press conference held at the Malta Equidrome. The event is organised by the Malta Racing Club and this will be the third edition of the championship.
The final race will take place on Sunday, 27 April, and is expected to bring together some of the best horses and drivers in Malta after a competitive series of qualifying rounds and semi-finals.
Mr Stephen Bonnici, Deputy General Manager of General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd., said the company is proud to support the championship for the third year in a row through its brand Bavaria. He added that it is an honour to be associated with a sport that is an important part of Maltese culture.
Speaking on behalf of the Malta Racing Club, Vice Chairman Mr Tony Demanuele said the final promises a high level of competition. He noted that the earlier stages of the championship already showed strong performances and close timings, setting up an exciting finish.
Dr Matthew Brincat, CEO of Malta Equidrome, wished all participants the best of luck and thanked the sponsors for their continued support. He also expressed hope that the collaboration will continue in the future.
Mr Max Zammit, CEO of EquestriMalta, also extended his best wishes to the finalists, saying the championship continues to deliver exciting racing at the start of the season.
