Marc Márquez has taken pole position at the Spanish MotoGP in Jerez after a strong performance in wet qualifying conditions on Saturday.
The home favourite set the fastest lap time of 1:48.087 on his Ducati. He finished 0.140 seconds ahead of Honda rider Johann Zarco, who came in second. Fabio Di Giannantonio placed third, more than one second behind Márquez.
The wet track made qualifying very difficult, and several riders struggled with the conditions. Marc Márquez stayed calm and controlled, which helped him secure the top spot.
His brother, Alex Márquez, had been the fastest in Friday practice but crashed during qualifying at turn nine. He was able to recover and still finished in fifth place.
Marco Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta will start alongside Alex Márquez on the second row of the grid.
Jorge Martin, Fermin Aldeguer, Franco Morbidelli and Jack Miller were among the riders who also had crashes during the qualifying sessions due to the tricky weather.

Marc Márquez said he felt more comfortable in the wet conditions, where smooth riding was more important than pushing too hard.
This pole position is his first since August 2025. The sprint race in Jerez will take place later on Saturday.
