World Pro Racing and Malta Motorsport Federation announce strategic two-year partnership

World Pro Racing (WPR) and the Malta Motorsport Federation (MMF) are proud to announce a landmark two-year collaboration aimed at transforming the sim racing landscape across Malta. This strategic alliance will reintroduce the official Malta National Sim Racing Championships in 2025 and 2026, offering local drivers a platform to compete in a dynamic series of events and paving the way for international opportunities.

The Championships will feature four distinct competitions, each designed to challenge drivers across a variety of racing disciplines:

  • Malta National Sim Racing Hill Climb Championship
  • Malta National Sim Racing GT3 Championship
  • Malta National Sim Racing Karting Championship
  • Malta National Sim Racing F4 Championship

For top-tier competitors, the stakes are high. Winners of the 2026 Championships will earn the honor of representing Malta at the prestigious FIA Motorsport Games—a global celebration of motorsport excellence. This is a unique opportunity for Maltese talent to showcase their abilities on the world stage.

To compete, drivers must obtain an MMF Esports License, which includes a complimentary one-year iRacing subscription—a move designed to lower barriers to entry and encourage wider participation, particularly among newcomers.

This initiative aligns with recent FIA recognition of sim racing as a legitimate motorsport discipline. As such, all events under this partnership will adhere strictly to the FIA International Sporting Code – Appendix E, ensuring compliance with global standards and providing Maltese racers with an elite competitive environment.

However, this partnership goes beyond competition. It’s about cultivating a sustainable ecosystem. World Pro Racing will also host regular community-focused events aimed at supporting grassroots development, building confidence among emerging drivers, and nurturing a vibrant local sim racing culture.

“We’re proud to renew our collaboration with MMF to continue advancing esports and sim racing in Malta,” said Adrian Figallo, Co-Founder of World Pro Racing. “There’s a need to focus more on the grassroots level, where talent can truly grow. Many hesitate to compete due to the fear of losing in a small local setting, but that mindset needs to change. Through our community events and championship structure, we aim to guide, prepare, and empower drivers. Success is not about nationality—it’s about commitment and dedication. The free iRacing license, made possible through our partnership with MMF and iRacing, is another step forward in making sim racing more accessible and effective for skill development.”

The Malta National Sim Racing Championships promise to be a turning point for local motorsport, whether you’re a seasoned driver or just starting your journey. This is your opportunity to step into the world of competitive sim racing and work toward a future in international motorsport.
