After the international break, the YoHealth Malta Premier returns this weekend with lots of interesting encounters from the Opening Round.
On Friday, Floriana and Gżira United will be opening Matchday 3, at 18:15 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Floriana had a perfect start so far in the league with two wins from two and, like Marsaxlokk, they’re in first place with 6 points. Last time out, the Greens beat Tarxien Rainbows 1-0, although the Rainbows, as they did against champions Ħamrun, did not make life easy for Portela’s men.
Floriana will be without Zachary Scerri, who is suspended after a straight red card at the end of the Tarxien match but will have new sigings, defenders Kouya Mabea and Akok Arok and Spanish goalkeeper Pablo Picon.
Gżira, on the other hand, are still looking for their first win of the season after a 5-3 loss in their opening match against Hibernians and a goalless draw against Birkirkara before the international break. The Maroons, however, have shown great potential in their first two outings and for sure cannot be underestimated against Floriana.
In their last meeting last season, Floriana emerged as clear winners with a 3-0 win.
