It was a busy and important week for Maltese futsal, with four semi-final matches played in the men’s competitions. These games confirmed the finalists for the Challenge League and also produced the first results in the Premier Final Four.
In the Premier Futsal semi-finals, University Futsal beat Marsaskala 4-1. University had more possession and controlled much of the game, but Marsaskala stayed well organised in defence and remained in the match for long periods.

In the other semi-final, Luxol St Andrews produced a dominant performance, defeating Birżebbuġa 11-1. The defending champions were in top form and showed their quality and experience throughout the match.
The second legs will take place on Friday, 1st May. Although some teams have strong leads, nothing is decided yet. There is still a chance for matches to go to extra time or even penalties.
In the Challenge League semi-finals, Malta Futsal U19 made history by reaching their first final after a strong 11-0 win over Sliema Fort Fitness Futsal. Luke Urpani was the standout player, scoring four goals in an impressive performance.
In the other match, Żejtun Corinthians beat St Venera Lightnings 7-4 in a very open and high-scoring game.

The Challenge League final will now be played between Malta Futsal U19 and Żejtun Corinthians. It promises to be an exciting match for Maltese futsal fans.
