Fenerbahce have sacked head coach Domenico Tedesco after their derby defeat to rivals Galatasaray.
The decision came just one day after a 3-0 loss in the Istanbul derby, a result that effectively ended Fenerbahce’s hopes of winning the league title. They are now seven points behind Galatasaray with only three matches left to play.
Tedesco only took charge in September, replacing Jose Mourinho, but has not managed to complete the season. The club’s recent defeat was a major setback in their title race.
In the match, Fenerbahce had a chance to take the lead but missed a first-half penalty while the score was still 0-0. Things got worse in the second half when their goalkeeper was sent off, making the task even harder.
Following the defeat, Fenerbahce also made changes behind the scenes. The club confirmed that their sporting director and football coordinator have also left their roles.

Assistant coach Zeki Murat Gole will now take charge of the team for the rest of the season.
It has been a disappointing end to the campaign for Fenerbahce, while Galatasaray are now in a strong position to secure the league title.
