Today at 4pm, Marsaxlokk take on Valletta at the National Stadium in another key match between top-four sides in the YoHealth Malta Premier Top 6 Closing Round.
Marsaxlokk come into this game after a 2-1 win over Gżira United. Enzo Potenza’s team will be aiming for another victory to go level on 28 points with Ħamrun Spartans, who beat Floriana on Saturday.
A win today would also give Marsaxlokk a slight advantage going into the final round, as they face Naxxar Lions, while Ħamrun must play Valletta. If both teams finish level on points, a deciding match will be needed, which will determine whether the league goes to a Finalissima between Floriana and Ħamrun or a Final Four format.
Valletta, on the other hand, are in a difficult and somewhat ironic position. Even if they win both of their remaining matches, they cannot finish second. Their results could therefore affect whether a Final Four takes place, depending on Marsaxlokk’s position.

This situation has sparked plenty of debate knowing that if Valletta beat Marsaxlokk, they will be probably killing the chance of winning the league title. Thane Micallef’s side come into this match after a 2-0 defeat to rivals Floriana.
The match will be officiated by Slobodan Petrovic.
