TONI KUKOC: Obradovic is a coach of big teams

One of the best European basketball players of all time, Toni Kukoc, explained that it is not easy to lead big teams.

Of course, when big coaching names are mentioned, Kukoc also touched on Zeljko Obradovic.

“When we talk about Pesic, we are talking about one of the best European coaches. He was my coach when I was 17, 18 years old, and since then I have had no contact with him, but at that time his strengths were known,” said Toni, then continued:

“The biggest part is to unite individuals into a whole, to give everyone the confidence that they are a very important part of the whole and that they must function that way. When it comes to Obradovic, he is the coach of big teams because he is able to do so,” emphasized Kukoc.

The former NBA player explained his statement.

“I will give you the best example. The Lakers with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe had the same team and did not make it to the playoffs until Phil Jackson came. Then they won three titles in a row. The same team, and the same players, but they don’t have a coach who can make a whole out of individuals. That’s why clubs don’t choose for the coach to be a big name, but for him to become a big name because he knows how to train the best players.” he concluded.
