Hibernians edged past Caffe Moak Luxol 62-59 in a thrilling MAPFRE MSV Life Women Knock Out clash at Ta’ Qali.
Luxol made the better start, taking the first quarter 16-12 behind strong shooting from Wikstrom. However, Hibernians turned the game around in the second quarter with a dominant 21-7 run to lead 33-23 at halftime, sparked by De Martino and Macleod.
Luxol responded in the third session, producing a 13-3 run to briefly regain the lead at 36–35. The final quarter was tightly contested, with Wikstrom keeping Luxol in the game until the closing seconds. Still, Hibernians held their composure to secure the win.
De Martino led Hibs with 20 points and was named Player of the Match, while Wikstrom poured in 26 for Luxol.
After the game, Hibernians coach Charlie Bonnici described it as a tough contest, praised Luxol’s performance, and said his team’s focus now shifts fully to the league title race and the upcoming playoffs.
