The FIVB – International Volleyball Federation announced that Russia is being deprived of the organization of the World Cup due to the situation in Ukraine.
The World Cup was supposed to be held in August and September 2022, but due to the war in Ukraine, the World Volleyball House announced that the tournament would be moved from Russia.
“The FIVB board came to the conclusion that it would be impossible to organize the World Cup in Russia. That is why it was decided to take away the household, “reads the FIVB statement.
The new organizer will be announced later.
The title, by the way, is defended by Poland, which won the 2018 championship, when it defeated Brazil 3-0 in the final.
