Depiro’s Under-19 Women’s volleyball team claimed the league title on Saturday after a composed and determined performance against Swieqi Phoenix Tough Cookies.
Depiro made a confident start, taking the first two sets with authority before Swieqi hit back to claim the third and keep the match alive. However, the champions-elect showed their character when it mattered most, regrouping to take the fourth and decisive set and with it, the title.
The triumph was the culmination of months of hard work, discipline and togetherness from the entire squad, guided throughout the season by coach Charles Gauci.
The team also paid tribute to their supporters, whose energy and encouragement on the night played no small part in driving them over the line on what was a memorable occasion for the club.
