Team USA dominated the men’s 400m final at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing on Saturday, claiming all three medals in the event.
Christopher Bailey won gold with a time of 45.08 seconds, followed by Brian Faust in second place with a season-best 45.47, and Jacory Patterson in third with 45.54. This impressive result marks only the second time a single country has ever taken all three medals in an event at the World Indoors.
Bailey, who came into the competition as the world leader, made his move on the back straight during the final lap and pulled ahead of his teammates to secure the win. Faust held off a late challenge from Patterson to take silver, finishing just 0.07 seconds ahead.
Hungary’s Attila Molnár tried to break up the American sweep with a strong finish but ended up fourth in 45.77 seconds.
The trio are expected to compete again on Sunday in the men’s 4x400m relay, which will close out the championships.
