Malta secured a second medal at the European Masters Championships in Madeira as Charlton Debono won silver in the M40 half-marathon with a time of 1:10:53.
Debono delivered a controlled performance across the 21.1 km course, holding position within the lead group before consolidating second place in the latter stages.
The result strengthens Malta’s presence in masters athletics, adding to the nation’s medal tally at these Championships. Debono’s consistency in domestic and international distance events has been reflected in recent seasons, and this podium finish continues that upward trajectory.
