Qormi Daikin have been crowned national hockey champions for the 16th time in their illustrious history following a 4-2 victory over reigning champions Floriana Young Stars. With one game to spare, the Yellow and Blacks secured the title and completed a dominant domestic season, having already claimed the Challenge Cup, Super Cup, Hockey 5s, and Hockey 7s.
The decisive match, played at the Hockey Complex in Corradino, was an exciting affair, with the result hanging in the balance until the final minutes. Qormi stormed into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Luke Bajada, Julian Zahra, and Shawn Dimech. Floriana, determined to defend their title, fought back with a spirited performance. Mark Camilleri netted twice to narrow the margin and inject drama into the closing stages.

However, with just a minute remaining, veteran player John Williams sealed the win for Qormi Daikin, ensuring the championship returned to Corradino. The match was officiated by umpires Dario Cacopardo and Alessandro Amore.
Qormi’s impressive weekend did not stop there. In the Hockey 7s, they were also presented with the trophy, securing a memorable double achievement across both formats of the sport.
In another top-division fixture, GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks overwhelmed White Hart with a 10-0 victory. The match was a one-sided contest with goals coming from Alessandro Amore, Stefano Schembri, Keith Scicluna, Silas Plaehn, Ryan George, Jayden Cutajar, Carmine Francese, Steve Portelli, David Ellul, and Kieran Borg. Umpires for the encounter were John Williams and Karl Chircop.
