Qormi Daikin and Floriana Young Stars both made strong starts in the EuroHockey Challenge Cup, winning their opening matches.
In Lithuania, Floriana Young Stars, last season’s champions, beat Swedish team Roslagens 3–1. After a quiet first quarter, Floriana took control in the second and third quarters, scoring two goals. They added a third in the final quarter before Roslagens pulled one back late in the game.
Floriana’s goals came from Justin Farrugia, Anton Saliba, and Marvin Vella. Leo Torner scored the only goal for Roslagens.

In another match, current champions Qormi Daikin started their campaign with a 3–0 win over Finland’s Hockey Team 85. Coached by Andre Ghio, Qormi scored once in each quarter to claim all three points.

Juan Sarcia scored twice, while Shawn Dimech added another goal for Qormi to secure the victory.
