This July, Malta will welcome its largest international gymnastics gathering in over 25 years, as GymStars Gymnastics Club proudly hosts over 300 athletes from 28 international clubs for a prestigious multi-day competition and elite training camp.

Participating clubs will travel from South Africa, Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Monaco, France, Greece, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Dubai, and many more countries to take part in this world-class event, highlighting Malta’s growing importance in the international gymnastics scene.

The event will be followed by the Sunlive WAG International Training Camp, tailored for gymnasts training under the FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) program. The camp will be conducted by renowned Olympic-level experts, providing a unique opportunity for young athletes to train alongside and learn from some of the best in the world.

Among the standout Maltese athletes participating are: Sophie St John, gold medalist at the Games of the Small States of Europe and Lyana Curmi Inguanez. With them the dynamic duo Janet & Julia Galea, known as the “Dou Twins.”

They will be joined by international elite athletes, including a bronze medalist from Iceland, as well as other rising stars from across Europe and beyond.

In parallel with the athlete training sessions, Sunlive Malta will be organising professional coaching workshops led by Olympic-level tutors, aimed at developing and enhancing coaching strategies within the gymnastics community.

Malta’s own High-Performance Coach Nataliya Berehova will be working alongside the Olympic experts during the camp, continuing her commitment to raising the standard of gymnastics locally. Nataliya and Sophie St John are also preparing to represent Malta once again on the international stage in Croatia, after Sophie’s excellent performance in Andorra earned her selection.

This international event and training camp not only mark a major milestone for GymStars Gymnastics Club but also shine a spotlight on Malta’s ability to host elite-level sporting events and cultivate world-class talent.
