Maltese gymnastics made history in Hungary today as Philippa Busuttil produced an outstanding performance at the FIG World Challenge Cup 2025 in Szombathely, qualifying for the beam final after a confident and elegant routine that captured the judges’ attention. It is the first time a Maltese gymnast has advanced to this stage of such a prestigious international competition, marking a landmark achievement for the sport locally.
Philippa showed remarkable composure across all four apparatus in the all-around phase, but it was her beam routine that stood out most.
