As reported by Replay (Net Television) on their Facebook page, Malta International Matthew Guillaumier has left Greek Super League side Panserraikos and is now a free agent.
Replay also said that Guillaumier is expected to return to Malta from Greece by Monday to assess his next move. A return to Maltese football in the second half of the season is one of the options being considered.
The page also reported that the midfielder is attracting interest from both European clubs and leading teams in Malta, with Ħamrun Spartans, the reigning champions, keen to bring back their former player should he decide to play again in the Malta Premier League. Other top local clubs are also expected to show interest if he opts to return home. With his experience and availability on a free transfer, Guillaumier is expected to be in high demand both locally and abroad.
Meanwhile, sources close to Ħamrun Spartans who spoke to Malta Sport said they are almost certain that if Guillaumier chooses to play in Malta, he will once again wear the red and black. However, they also stressed that the player’s main priority remains continuing his career abroad.
