As part of the Malta Football Association’s 125th anniversary celebrations, the Malta Veterans FA is king part in the Jubilee Cup, a prestigious knockout competition that honours more than a century of football excellence on the islands.
Led by coach Joe Micallef, the squad brings together 24 iconic names from Maltese football history, blending leadership, passion, and experience in one team of legends.
The goalkeeper trio includes Justin Spiteri, Matthew Camilleri, and Matthew Xerxen, all of whom bring stability and reliability between the posts.
In defence, the team can be fortified by Brian Said, Carlo Mamo, Jonathan Pearson, Justin Grioli, Stephen Wellman, and Steven Bonnici, offering both strength and tactical awareness.
The midfield lineup is stacked with creativity and control featuring Andrew Cohen, Beppe Muscat, Daniel Cremona, Dino Cachia, Gareth Sciberras, George Frendo, Kevin Sammut, Kurt Magro, Roderick Briffa, and Thomas Paris.
Up front, the attacking power of coach Micallef can vary from a typical due composed of Adam Smeir and Ian Zammit, or JP Mifsud Triganza along with Mano Micallef. Mark Barbara is also available.
The team will start its preparation in the coming days on time to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime competition.
