Balzan win the BOV Challenge League and return to the Malta Premier

Balzan FC were crowned champions of the BOV Challenge League after an exciting final day of the season.

Going into the last matches, Balzan and Swieqi United were level on 45 points, while Birżebbuġa St Peter’s were just behind on 43 and still had a small chance of winning the title.

Balzan did what they needed, beating Melita FC 2-0 to secure the title. At the same time, Swieqi were held to a 1-1 draw by Fgura United, which meant Balzan finished top of the table.

After the match, the trophy was presented to Balzan by Ernest Agius and Matthew Paris, marking a special moment for the club, its players and fans.

The season showed just how competitive the league is, with the title decided on the final day and Balzan proving to be deserved champions.
