Malta will be represented by two match officials in the upcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2026 Round 2 mini-tournament in Armenia, with referee Alex Johnson and assistant referee Kurt Saliba appointed for Group B5 fixtures in Yerevan.
The group features Armenia, Hungary, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, with matches scheduled between 22 and 28 April at the FFA Academy Stadium and the Republican Stadium after Vazgen Sargsyan.
Alex Johnson has been appointed referee for two matches in the tournament. He will officiate Hungary against Liechtenstein on 22 April at the FFA Academy Stadium, before taking charge of Luxembourg against Liechtenstein on 25 April.

Kurt Saliba, meanwhile, has been appointed assistant referee for three fixtures. He will be involved in Hungary against Liechtenstein on 22 April, Luxembourg against Liechtenstein on 25 April, and Luxembourg against Hungary on 28 April.
This will be Alex Johnson’s first appointment since he was named a FIFA Referee in January 2026. Before his induction seminar in Cyprus, Malta Sport had also carried an exclusive interview with Johnson as he prepared for that important milestone in his refereeing journey.
The appointments represent another encouraging moment for Maltese officiating at the international level, with local officials continuing to earn recognition from UEFA for important youth competition fixtures.
