Cole Palmer scored three goals in the first half as Chelsea comfortably beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Molineux. The win means Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has now won his first four Premier League games, becoming the second English coach to do so.
Wolves had been doing well recently but were quickly put under pressure. Within 15 minutes, Wolves gave away a penalty when Matt Doherty fouled João Pedro. Palmer stepped up and scored, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Wolves almost fell further behind, but goalkeeper José Sá made some good saves. However, Wolves then gave away another penalty after Yerson Mosquera pushed Pedro. Palmer scored again, making it 2-0, and he completed his hat-trick just minutes later from a Marc Cucurella pass.
After half-time, Wolves improved and scored through Tolu Arokodare, who finished well after a corner. But Chelsea controlled the game and held on for the win.
The result keeps Chelsea close to Manchester United in fifth place, just one point off the final Champions League spot. Wolves, meanwhile, are struggling, with 19 league defeats this season.
