Arsenal’s title hopes took a blow as they lost 2-1 to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium, ending their nine-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Bournemouth, who came into the match on an 11-game unbeaten run, took the lead after around 15 minutes when Eli Junior Kroupi scored at the far post after a low cross from Adrien Truffert.
Arsenal were given a way back into the match before half-time when Gabriel Magalhães’ shot hit the hand of Ryan Christie, leading to a penalty. Viktor Gyökeres stepped up and scored from the spot to make it 1-1.
The visitors looked dangerous again before the break and continued to play well in the second half, keeping possession and creating chances.
Arsenal thought they had gone ahead when Gyökeres scored again, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Bournemouth regained the lead in the 74th minute when Alex Scott finished calmly after a pass from Evanilson.

Arsenal pushed for an equaliser late on, with Gabriel Jesus coming close, but Bournemouth held on to take all three points.
The result moves Bournemouth into the top half of the table, while Arsenal’s defeat could allow Manchester City to close the gap at the top.
