The basketball club Olympiacos complained to the Euroleague about the decision of the referees at the end of the game with Fenerbahce, which caused them to lose the game.
The team from Piraeus believes that Yam Madar fouled Williams-Goss in the last possession, but the referees did not think so.
Until that moment, Williams-Goss had 3/3 from the penalty line and Olympiacos believed that in this way they were deprived of the chance to take the game to overtime.
“We call on the Euroleague to take a clear stance on the foul on Nigel Williams-Goss at the end of the match with Fenerbahce. Improper application of the rules by the referees decided the match against us.” it is stated in the press release of the club.
Assistant coach Georgios Bartzokas was direct in his remarks about the referees.
“I definitely believe that the trial played a big role. The foul on Nigel was obvious,” said Bartzokas.
On the replay, it is clearly seen that Madar hit the Olympiacos player on the arm, who then missed the extra-time shot.
