Baskonia coach Dusko Ivanovic spoke about Partizan before the duel against the Black and Whites in the sixth round of the Euroleague.
Shortly after leaving the bench of Red Star Meridianbet, Ivanovic became the coach of the team from Vitoria for the fourth time, and his first duel in the “new” club will be a match against Partizan.
“We know each other very well. This is a team with a lot of talent and that plays intense defense. A tough rival, it’s a team that had to be in the Final Four last year.” said the Montenegrin coach.
Baskonia is in a series of bad results and lacks confidence before this duel, but Dusko hopes that he can change the situation in the team.
“We have to concentrate on the match. The motivation is there. We will have to show intensity, fight for the ball and show the character that Baskonia has always had.”
Ivanovic believes that defense will be the key to eventual success.
“In order to triumph, we have to play good defense against one of the teams with the best offensive players in the Euroleague. We have to do it very well and be patient in attack.” Ivanovic concluded.
