The coach of the Dallas team, the legendary Jason Kidd, said that Dallas has a chance to fight for the title, after the arrival of Kyrie Irving.
Brooklyn received Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie and several first- and second-round picks in the 2027 and 2029 drafts for the Irving trade.
“We think Irving and his talent will make us better. It will definitely help us get into a position to challenge for the title,’ Kidd said.
Irving requested to be traded at the beginning of the previous week, after the failed agreement on a contract extension with Brooklyn.
“It’s easy to look at all the stories in a negative context, but there are many more positive things related to him both on and off the court. This is a great opportunity for me to have someone like that to help the team,’ Kidd pointed out and added that pairing Irving with Doncic can make a huge difference in the Dallas team.
Kyrie won the title with the Cavs in 2016 and is an eight-time All-Star. In the last three years, he had a lot of problems with injuries, as well as suspensions due to the rejection of the ‘COVID’ protocol.
