The first man of the Basketball Association of Turkey, the legendary Hidayet Turkoglu, spoke about the incident at the match between his national team and Georgia at the EuroBasket.
After great tensions in the game itself, several interruptions on the edge of the fight, Ataman’s exclusion, missing 22 seconds and the situation after the match when the local basketball players waited for Furkan Korkmaz in front of the locker room, Turkoglu felt the need to speak out.
The Turks said that the fitness coach and Furkan Korkmaz were attacked and requested footage from the security cameras, while a statement came from Georgia stating that it was all just a provocation.
– If they think it’s a provocation, why don’t they show the footage to the public? If they think we’re provoking someone and they’re mad, why don’t they show the footage so we can see what happened in the locker room? – asked Turkoglu, then added:
– Then we will see who is lying and who is not. Who provokes and who does not. Next time you see them, ask them that. If you believe so much in what you are saying, why don’t you show the camera footage so the whole world can see what happened? Then we will be able to say whether we provoked someone or not. At least, if you believe in yourself that much… If you have the b*lls why not show the footage? But if you don’t have them, then you shouldn’t talk about the situation.
How this incident will end and what epilogue it will get remains to be seen.
