Williams Racing Confirms Logan Sargeant for 2024, Finalizing F1 Grid

Williams Racing has officially announced that American driver Logan Sargeant will continue with the team for the 2024 Formula 1 season, marking his second year with Williams. The 22-year-old, who scored his first F1 point during his debut season, will partner with London-born Thai driver Alex Albon.

The confirmation of Sargeant’s retention completes the lineup for the 20-driver grid for the 2024 F1 season. Expressing his excitement, Sargeant said, “I am thrilled to be continuing with Williams Racing for the 2024 season. It has been an incredible journey with the team so far, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue developing as a driver within such a talented and dedicated group. We have exciting plans for the future, and I can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success in the coming year.”

Sargeant’s notable achievement includes scoring a point at the United States Grand Prix in August after Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified, becoming the first American to score in F1 since Michael Andretti 30 years ago.

Williams team principal James Vowles commented, “Logan has demonstrated immense skill whilst under the pressure of the world stage, making him a perfect fit for our team. We have great confidence in his abilities and believe that together we can achieve even greater success in the upcoming season.”

The 2024 F1 grid is now set with the following lineups:

  • Ferrari: Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz
  • McLaren: Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri
