The former coach of Maccabi, Darushafaka, Olympiakos, Cleveland and many other teams, David Blatt, felt the need to address the situation in Israel.
There are many famous Israelis who have taken American citizenship. They were born and raised outside their homeland, and David Blatt is certainly the most famous among them.
“Together we stand, divided we fall. I wish everyone the courage and strength to overcome the pain and defeat the enemy. Now is not the time to play the blame game or to fight political battles, we have bigger challenges.” he began.
He pointed out that the attack by Hamas was pure terrorism.
“Our children, parents, brothers and sisters became hostages. Mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers are killed on the streets, in their houses. Our people and country are under constant threat. Wake up world, today it’s with us, tomorrow it could be in your yard, this is real. Whether it’s Hamas, ISIS, it’s certainly terrorism and this is a battle for humanity.”
Finally, David pointed out that he would not like to see divisions, but for everyone to unite in the fight against terrorism.
“To put aside all divisions, to preserve our country and way of life. We join hands to provide support to those who need it. Now we are fighting to save our people, tomorrow will be a fight for freedom, for the safety of our loved ones. To protect the future as a human race, the struggle is real.” Blatt concluded.
