CARLOS TEVEZ IS FACED WITH AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM: My players don't know how to add and subtract

Carlos Tevez is the coach of the famous Argentinian Independiente, the club that has won the most Copa Libertadores trophies in South America, but it has unusual problems.

Tevez started and ended his career in Boca Juniors, and played for West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Shanghai Shenhua.

The fame of the experienced striker did not make him lose touch with reality. He showed this in his last statements about his players: “We do a speed exercise related to neurology in training. When I see that a player is out of breath, I make him solve a simple task and add two and two.

Three guys from the team told me today that they don’t know how to add or subtract. And these are the guys who play in the first league” – Carlos Tevez said worriedly to the local media.

Tevez works to prepare the players literately and not just physically: “It is a great embodiment of poverty.” We can feed the children, and help them with many things, but the importance of education… As a club, we are preparing a project through which the boys in the club will be able to spend two hours each learning and progressing after training.”

Teveza had a difficult childhood and grew up in Fuerte Apache, a dangerous neighborhood of Buenos Aires where street laws ruled.
