ATAMAN: The goal of Panathinaikos is to become an F4 team

Ergin Ataman finished his episode on the bench of Anadolu Efes and next season he will lead the giants from Greece, Panathinaikos.

In a statement for the Turkish “A Spor”, Ataman spoke about his plans with the Panathinaikos team.

“The president and general manager are negotiating with some strong names. The market is not too open as far as big basketball players are concerned, but there will be changes. The goal is to create a team that will be a candidate for F4 and the Euroleague title. It’s not all about the coach, and in agreement with the management, we will certainly have a strong team,’ said Ergin Ataman.

He spoke in his own style about the results he achieved in Efes.

“There is nothing left for me to conquer because I have already conquered everything. I am one of two or three coaches who won the Euroleague twice in a row, and I also have four different European competitions. I am aware that what happens is part of history and that only what follows is important. I have a great desire to win a medal with the national team because I have not done it so far. I hope that I will have the opportunity to do that,’ Ergin finished.
