The senior team of Swieqi Phoenix Volleyball, supported by NIUM, were crowned champions of the National Superleague on Sunday afternoon, after the girls beat Falcons with score of 3-1. The team received the Superleague trophy from MVA President Mr Branko Vlahovic. The team are also winners of this season’s National Cup.
Swieqi Phoenix Volleyball has won the Superleague for the fourth time in six years, and Club President Orlando Bonnici had words of praise for the coaches and players, whose performance this season enabled them to wrap up the season and secure the title way back in February. He also expressed the appreciation of the club for the valuable support of sponsors NIUM over the past years.
Technical Director Leonard Zammit Munro highlighted the dedication and passion of all the group, and said the season was marked by how the team’s veteran and the younger players worked successfully together to achieve this amazing result.
