Positive performance from Maltese drivers at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia

The prestigious 2024 FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia have concluded, showcasing top motorsport talent.

Nicky Gauci faced a tough debut in F4 racing, contending with challenging rain conditions. Starting in 21st place, he impressively climbed to 14th in the final, finishing 13th overall. His determination earned him praise from commentators, marking a memorable start for the rookie.

In ESport, Keith Camilleri was eliminated in the quarter-finals and last-chance races, while Dean Vella exited in the semifinals.

Team Malta in Karting Endurance, featuring Micah Scicluna, Ryan Borg, and Ella Zammit, finished 20th. Jacob Micallef qualified second in Karting Sprint Senior but, after a crash at the start, finished 8th despite earlier results of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Benji Westwood placed 18th out of 34 in Karting Sprint Junior. Ayrton Jon Tonna, racing in the Karting Mini Category, showcased his potential by starting 12th and finishing 5th, setting the fastest lap of the race.

Overall, this experience was a significant positive for the Maltese drivers. Their resilience and determination make us proud, motivating them to strive for better results in future local and international competitions.
