After a short stint in Brazil, it’s nearly time to ride the rodeo, that’s right, it’s time to go racing at the Circuit of the Americas. From a very busy Media Day to an action-packed racing schedule, here’s your guide to the Red Bull Grand Prix of the United States this weekend!
Friday: track action resumes in Texas
The real action begins on Friday, with Moto3 leaving the pits for FP1 at 09:00, before Moto2 at 09:50. Then it’s time to turn our attention to the premier class, with MotoGP FP1 starting at 10:45.
Following a short lunch break, a busy afternoon commences with Moto3 Practice at 13:15, ahead of Moto2 at 14:05. The MotoGP stars will be released onto the circuit at 15:00 as they begin to fight for direct entry into Q2. But that’s not all! The Bagger World Cup will join the paddock for the first time, with qualifying at 16:25.
Saturday: blockbuster qualifying and Sprint action
Super Saturday starts at 08:40 as each class enjoys one final FP2 session. That’s before qualifying gets underway, with the MotoGP grid fighting for pole position from 10:50 on Saturday morning. Moto3’s starting order will be decided from 12:45 before Moto2 qualifying at 13:40!
After all that, we head racing! The Tissot Sprint goes lights out at 15:00, with 10 laps of action in store to decide gold. The Bagger World Cup will end Saturday’s schedule as they kick off the season in style at 16:10.
Sunday: Grand Prix race day
Race day begins at 09:45 with the Bagger World Cup Race 2, shortly followed by MotoGP Warm Up at 10:40. Moto3 prepares to lock horns at 12:00, with 14 laps to look forward to ahead of Moto2 at 13:15. Finally, all talking stops at 15:00 as the USA GP gets underway for a thrilling 19-lap tussle.
