The Assikura Women’s League returned this week after a short break due to the Super Cup, which Swieqi United won after beating Mġarr United.
Birkirkara 0-1 Swieqi United

In the biggest match of the week, Swieqi United beat Birkirkara 1–0 at the Centenary Stadium. Bulgarian international Aleksandra Yaneva scored the only goal early in the game, calmly finishing past Birkirkara goalkeeper Janice Xuereb.
Birkirkara had the chance to equalise from the penalty spot, but new signing Momo Ueda missed. Ueda, from Japan, was making her debut along with fellow countrywoman Haruhi Sekura. Another new player, Leanne Micallef, also started the match.
Before kick-off, Swieqi’s long-time player Emma Xuereb was honoured for making 100 appearances for the club across all competitions.
San Ġwann 0-4 Mġarr United
Goals: M. Hernández 51’, 59’, 73’; V. Villegas 88’
Mġarr United continued their perfect start to the season with a strong 4–0 win over San Ġwann.
María Hernández from Argentina scored three goals (a hat-trick), and Valeria Villegas added a fourth late in the game.
Coach Ryan Vella tried a new forward line by starting Hernández alongside Josline N’Guessan. The new pairing worked well and looked promising.

Hibernians 7-0 Valletta

Hibernians were in top form as they cruised past Valletta with a big 7–0 win.
Suzanne Farrugia Sacco scored a first-half hat-trick against her former club. Sarah Vella Barberi, Alanah Ghio, Ileana Farrugia and captain Nicole Sciberras also got on the scoresheet in a comfortable win.
