On Saturday, the Tony Bezzina Stadium will host two big clashes, starting with the meeting between Valletta and Hibernians in the YoHealth Malta Premier Matchday 9.
Valletta go into the match as the only unbeaten team in the league, and having won their last three games. The Citizens, led by captain Brandon Paiber and boosted by in-form players like Messias and Thaylor, will be aiming to keep their momentum going after the international break. With their current run, a top-of-the-table finish in the Opening Round is now within reach.
Hibernians, meanwhile, started the season strongly but have recently suffered back-to-back defeats against Ħamrun Spartans and Floriana. They’ll need to be at their best to overcome Valletta, who are currently the most in-form side in the league.
The last time these two teams met, during the 2023/24 season, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
