Ħamrun Spartans come into the match in poor form, having lost three games in a row in the YoHealth Malta Premier. They are still without a point in the Closing Round Top 6 phase, with defeats to Marsaxlokk F.C. and Gżira United F.C.
Their recent struggles have seen Marsaxlokk draw level on points, meaning only a win will do if they want to avoid a Final Four place and instead force a finalissima against Closing Round winners Floriana F.C.
Meanwhile, Naxxar Lions will be aiming to bounce back after a narrow defeat to Floriana and a draw with Valletta F.C.. Since the arrival of coach Winston Muscat, Naxxar have improved significantly and shown they can compete with any team.
