Chelsea lose again as United take three points

Manchester United F.C. beat Chelsea F.C. 1–0 at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea now losing four straight Premier League home games for the first time since 1998.

Both teams came into the match after defeats, so neither side had ideal preparation for an important game in the fight for Champions League places.

Chelsea started the brighter of the two teams and created the better chances in a tight first half. Estêvão came close when his shot hit the post, but he was later forced off with an injury. Enzo Fernández also went close, shooting just wide from inside the box.

However, Manchester United took the lead with their only shot on target in the first half. Matheus Cunha scored from a cut-back by Bruno Fernandes to make it 1–0.

After half-time, Chelsea pushed hard to get back into the game. They hit the woodwork twice and created several chances, but could not score. Cole Palmer also had an effort go wide, while Moisés Caicedo came close late on.

United defended well and held on comfortably to their lead.

The result increases pressure on Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior, while United, managed by interim boss Michael Carrick, move further ahead of them in the table. Ruben Amorim had been replaced earlier in the season.
