A draw was held in Zurich for the barrage of European qualifications for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar!
One group will be especially interesting for everyone!
Twelve selections are divided into three groups, and only three national teams will win a visa for the World Cup in Qatar next summer!
Passengers to the World Cup will be determined after the mini-tournament. There will be two semifinals and one final in all three groups.
The outcome of the draw is as follows:
GROUP A: Scotland vs Ukraine & Wales vs Austria
GROUP B: Russia vs Poland & Sweden vs The Czech Republic
GROUP C: Italy vs Northern Macedonia & Portugal vs Turkey
- Note: The national teams that are bold will be the hosts in the semifinal match!
As many have wished, Portugal and Italy will potentially decide on qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar.
The current and former European champions are in the same group, which means that only one will pass through the barrage. Of course, if before that they manage to beat Northern Macedonia or Turkey…
At first glance, group C is by far the most difficult, while group A seems like a group in which each of the four teams can be placed.
