UEFA sold TV rights and received 1.5 billion euros

UEFA concluded an agreement with Paramount, and thus they sold the TV rights for the Champions League matches to the North American market for the sum of 1.5 billion euros.

This information was confirmed by CBS, which is owned by Paramount.

The rights to the elite competition for the next six seasons have been purchased.

The previous contract between UEFA and Paramount was about to expire in 2024, and the previous price for the North American market was 100 million euros per season.

With this new contract, there was an increase according to which the TV rights will amount to 250 million euros per season, due to the larger number of participants in the Champions League from 2025.

This agreement that was reached also represents one of the biggest contracts in the history of sports and television.
