Now a former player of numerous clubs from Europe, Luis Suarez, made his debut for Brazilian Gremio in the best possible way in the regional Super Cup match against Sao Luiz.
Gremio outplayed the opponent and defeated them 4:1, thus winning the regional Super Cup, and the match was marked by the experienced Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
The celebrated striker confirmed the title of the continent’s best goal scorer by scoring a hat-trick on his debut, securing a new trophy for his new team.
Suarez scored all three goals in the first half, in just 38 minutes, and then sat on the bench. He was greeted with a huge ovation from the packed stands, and he thanked the fans in the best possible way.
He scored the first goal in the fourth minute, and just ten minutes later Sao Luiz managed to equalize. After half an hour of play, Suarez scored the second goal of the match, and only eight minutes later he completed the hat-trick.
This is the first time for the Uruguayan to score three goals in one match since 2013 when he defeated Norwich in a Liverpool shirt.
The famous Uruguayan moved to Gremio from his homeland, where he played for Nacional, at the end of December. Gremio will play in the Brazilian Serie A this season because last season they managed to win a return to the company of the best after a season spent in the second division.
