The streets of Żabbar were transformed into a vibrant sporting arena on Sunday morning as the Malta Football Association continued its 125th anniversary celebrations with a dynamic edition of Street Football.
Held in Triq Alessio Erardi, the event welcomed children, families, and football enthusiasts from across the community for four hours of fast-paced action, smiles, and skill, all unfolding in the heart of the town.

Young players showcased their talent in a friendly yet competitive environment, embodying the essence of grassroots football—accessible, inclusive, and joyful. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Malta FA to bring football directly into the heart of Maltese communities, reigniting the spirit of street football that once shaped generations of local talent.

The event was more than just games. It was a celebration of unity through sport. Passersby stopped to watch, parents lined the temporary sidelines, and volunteers kept the event running smoothly in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
The Malta FA has been marking its 125th anniversary with various community initiatives and commemorative events, including school visits, historic exhibitions, and now, with the return of Street Football in towns and villages.
