Croatian midfielder Roko Prša has officially signed a one-year contract with Sliema Wanderers, keeping him at the club until June 2026. The move marks a significant addition to Sliema’s midfield options as they prepare for the upcoming Maltese Premier League season.
MaltaSport had exclusively reported at the start of June that Prša would be parting ways with reigning champions Ħamrun Spartans after three seasons at the club. His departure was confirmed shortly after the end of the 2024–25 campaign, and the midfielder has now committed his future to the Blues.
Prša, 29, brings experience, technical ability, and a competitive edge to the Sliema squad. A product of the Dinamo Zagreb academy, he has featured in Croatia’s top divisions and has established himself in recent years as a reliable presence in central midfield. His time with Ħamrun saw him contribute to domestic success and gain valuable European experience.
Sliema Wanderers, newly re-established in the top tier, are aiming to build a balanced and ambitious squad, and the acquisition of Prša signals their intent to compete with the league’s top sides. Club officials expressed confidence that the Croatian’s leadership and composure on the ball will add a new dimension to their midfield.
With pre-season preparations underway, Prša is expected to play a key role in Sliema’s tactical setup under coach Paul Zammit as they target stability and progress in the 2025–26 campaign.
