Bjorn Kristensen had to pull out of the national team’s 26-man squad due to a reoccurrence of a minor knee issue during training.
Kristensen, who plays for Hibernians, was supposed to join the team for the upcoming matches against Moldova and Andorra, but he will no longer be able to make the trip. Instead, Kristensen will stay in Malta and work with the physiotherapists at the national team clinic as he begins his recovery process.
Taking his place in the squad will be Matias Garcia, a midfielder from Floriana, who will step in to provide support to the team during these crucial fixtures.
