Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was declared the best player of the month of April in the English Premier League.
Citizens returned to the first position of the Premier League this month, and the Norwegian striker contributed to that success.
Haaland scored six goals and recorded two assists, and this performance earned him the award for the best player of the month.
He scored in every match he played in, including the winning goals against Arsenal and Fulham.
This month he managed to reach the record for the number of goals in one season in the Premier League. The recent record was held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole with 34 goals in a season.
With the goal against West Ham, the Norwegian reached 35 goals in the four rounds until the end of the Premier League.
“I am very happy to have received the Player of the Month award for the second time this season. I am grateful to everyone who voted for me. We are now in a very important part of the season and it is very important that we managed to win all the matches during April. I am really delighted that I helped my team with the goals. Now we just need to continue like this until the end”, said Haaland.
The Norwegian will have the opportunity to increase his goalscoring performance on Sunday when Manchester City will host Everton at Goodison Park.
