Aston Villa has been playing well since the arrival of Unai Emery as coach of the team from “Villa Park”, and the award for the best coach of the month of April in the Premier League went to the Spanish coach.
Aston Villa played seven games this month, and despite the difficult schedule, the Spanish coach’s team recorded only one defeat, on the last day of April against Manchester United.
For Aston Villa, April began with a victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (0:2), and three days later they played against Leicester (1:2).
Villa then beat Nottingham Forest (2:0) and Newcastle (3:0) at home. A draw with Brentford (1:1) followed, then a victory against Fulham (1:0).
Aston Villa’s unbeaten streak ended at “Old Trafford” against Manchester United (1:0).
Emery took over the team from “Villa Park” on October 24, and excellent results with this club in April earned him the award for the best coach.
In these seven matches, his team scored 11 goals and conceded only three.
